On Friday, May 23, Mike Farris, a self-described southern boy whose music is rooted in early American gospel with a touch of blues, filled our 4000+ square foot barn venue with the music that won him the 2008 American Music Award for “New and Emerging Artist of the Year.” In 2010, Farris gathered numerous “A” list musicians to produce an album to raise funds for the devastating floods that hit Tennessee. The 2010 winner of the GMA Dove Award for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year, is not a new face to using his musical talent to help those around
him. He used this talent to play this concert where proceeds benefitted the Oconee Regional Humane Society.
Farris took the over 100 guests in attendance through a lyrical journey of his life while telling stories of his past and how he got to the very stage he was sitting on that night. If you missed out on this intimate concert and are looking forward to the next, then join us on Saturday, June 28. Tickets will be $30 and the evening will include a concert featuring Diane Durrett with special guest Connor Pledger, heavy hors d’oeuvres from At Your Service Catering and a cash bar.
