Sometimes we walk away from an event utterly unable to stop smiling. That is exactly how we felt this past weekend after Megan & Mitch's wedding. The love and passion they feel for one another was so evident to everyone who attended!
Their ceremony was different from any that we have done before...it was held in our field and guests sat on hay bales! It was such a beautiful ceremony, and it made for some awesome photos to boot. The reception was just as great, with tables out on the lawn and string lighting overhead for a great ambiance. Music was provided by Drew Parker, who had an awesome voice! Sonny's BBQ catered with yummy barbeque and fixins' which felt right at home in The Barn. Hmarie Photography was great to work with and they made some gorgeous photos! Like we have said before, vendors make the difference...and they certainly made Megan & Mitch's day easier!
Here are some photos we took during their big day, plus a sneak peak at the photos Hmarie Photography took! You can keep checking their Facebook page here to see more as they are posted.
We had the best time at our first installment of the Music in the Pines concert series on August 24! There was awesome music, a great turnout, great food...the list goes on and on.
First on the stage was Krysta Nick. A teenage powerhouse, Krysta really impressed the crowd with her rendition of "Cups" from the movie Pitch Perfect. She has been singing as long as she can remember and has even performed the national anthem at Turner Field! We were so happy to have her as a part of our inaugural concert, and we are sure that big things will come from her soon!
Tori-Lee Averett is a southeast Alabama native who is currently living in Milledgeville and teaching at Georgia College. Her extraordinary talent was appreciated from the moment she took the stage! Tori-Lee is an incredibly skilled guitarist, which made for a captivating performance.
EG Kight, known as "The Georgia Songbird," was last but certainly not least. Her sense of humor and obvious talent for her craft lit up the stage and made for a great set. Click here to see a short clip from EG's performance!
At Your Service catering provided heavy hors d'oeuvres that were simply scrumptious, as always. Like I said, it was an awesome time! Below are a few pictures from the night, beginning with a snapshot of our three performers.
Thank you all so much for coming out to our first installment of the Music in the Pines concert series! We hope you are getting excited for the next concert which will be held on November 30. Randall Bramblett is a Southern artist who includes elements of pop, soul, blues, and sounds of the church in his music. The Scott Little Band aims to take listeners on a ride through American life, and they feel that good Georgia music can conjure up thoughts of peaches, red dirt roads, sweet tea, and Georgia rain. Both of these artists will be at The Barn at Crooked Pines farm for the second installment of Music in the Pines, and we hope to see you all then!
Here at The Barn at Crooked Pines Farm, we sincerely believe in making lasting memories for our clients. Any event, especially a wedding, requires a number of things to make it successful. Nine times out of ten, however, I can point to one cluster of people who make a wedding an event with positive lasting memories: the vendors.
Vendors really and truly make or break an event. For example, if you want your wedding reception to be fun and full of energy with lots of dancing and mingling, the very best thing you can do is hire a DJ who has rave reviews, not the one who has rock bottom pricing and might not have much wedding experience. A catering company who has an excellent reputation is more likely to bus tables and have a professional air about them when serving your meal. A florist with examples of their work and is willing to draw you a mock-up of your centerpieces is probably worth the extra cash.
See, we can tell you these things because we can see what happens behind the scenes at an event. The bride, groom, and parents are much more relaxed and have more fun when they truly trust that they have hired vendors who can do their job to the utmost of their ability without the host and hostess having to constantly ask questions. When you attend a wedding as a guest, these are probably not things that you think about...however, when it is your own party, they suddenly become important.
This is why we have a Preferred Vendor list that we can supply you with when you choose The Barn for your special day. Our Preferred Vendors have worked in our facility alongside us, and the events they were involved with were some of the best times we have had at The Barn. That's why they made the list!
When a bride and groom decide to join our family and host their event at The Barn, they are certainly not required to use our Preferred Vendors. We do ask, however, that you select the people who will play a part in making your special day perfect wisely. We promise, once you get to your wedding day, the last thing you want to do is feel like you need to micromanage everything that goes on. Enjoy your day! Hire excellent vendors!
We are The Barn at Crooked Pines Farm. We believe in family & southern hospitality. We believe in hand written notes, sweet tea, and long porch chats. We want you to become a part of our family too.
